- Abstract: This presentation will introduce the architecture of a large-scale CXL memory expansion system, purpose-built to deliver breakthrough performance for 100 TiB-class workloads and shared memory compute paradigms. CXL Consortium members Liqid and Micron will discuss how they are deploying novel CXL-based system architectures to maximize performance and capacity for demanding applications:
- Dramatically increasing size limits as to “what fits in memory”
- Composable provisioning of large amounts of memory for both memory-expansion (pooling) and shared access
- Enabling existing apps and work flows to achieve memory de-duplication through shared memory, enabled by the open-source fabric-attached memory file system (famfs)
- Enabling data scaling without sharding for workloads that can’t be sharded or quantized effectively
