By: Gordon Getty, Director of Product Management, Teledyne LeCroy
Teledyne LeCroy has been an active participant in the CXL Consortium, contributing expertise in system validation, interoperability, and technology development. In this member spotlight blog, Teledyne LeCroy shares how its involvement is helping advance CXL adoption through collaboration, identifies emerging use cases for CXL technology, and discusses the impact CXL is having on the future of computing infrastructure.
Can you share a brief introduction of Teledyne LeCroy?
Teledyne LeCroy is a leading provider of oscilloscopes, protocol test, validation, and compliance solutions for high-speed interconnect technologies. In the CXL ecosystem, we help engineers design, debug, validate, and certify interoperable products with protocol analyzers, exercisers, and compliance test solutions that support development from early silicon bring-up through system validation and official compliance testing.
Additionally, Teledyne LeCroy’s Austin Labs provides comprehensive CXL 2.0 and 3.0 Protocol training and testing. Based on the latest CXL specifications as well as real world test findings from Austin Labs Testing Services, our CXL protocol training covers the protocol, as well as a guided walk-through of best practices for analyzer configuration and installation. Testing services include CXL debug, analysis, and regression testing to ensure that the CXL products we test perform as expected.
What prompted Teledyne LeCroy to join the CXL Consortium?
We joined the CXL Consortium because CXL is reshaping system architecture by enabling more efficient connections among compute, memory, and accelerators. As a company focused on next-generation interconnect technologies, we recognized early that CXL would be critical to data center, AI, and memory-centric platforms. Consortium participation helps us stay aligned with the evolving specification, support ecosystem readiness, and ensure our tools address real-world validation and interoperability challenges.
What is the biggest advantage of CXL Consortium membership? How does Teledyne LeCroy participate?
CXL Consortium membership gives companies the opportunity to collaborate across the ecosystem, access specifications, participate in working groups, and contribute to the direction of the technology. It also provides an important forum for interoperability, compliance, and ecosystem alignment, all of which are essential to broad adoption. Teledyne LeCroy participates by delivering the analysis, exerciser, and compliance tools needed for CXL development and validation, while also supporting interoperability efforts and engaging with the community through demonstrations, workshops, and industry events.
What use cases do you feel will be ideal targets for CXL technology? Which market segments do you believe will benefit most from CXL?
CXL is especially well suited for applications limited by memory capacity, bandwidth, or resource efficiency. Ideal use cases include AI and machine learning infrastructure, in-memory databases, high-performance computing, and large-scale cloud environments where memory expansion, memory pooling, and more flexible resource allocation can improve performance and utilization. It is also a strong fit for accelerator-rich platforms that depend on coherent communication among CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and attached memory.
Which market segments do you believe will benefit most from CXL deployment?
The greatest near-term impact will likely be in data center and enterprise server environments, particularly those supporting AI, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, and memory-intensive analytics. These markets are under increasing pressure to scale compute and memory more efficiently while improving utilization and managing power and cost. Over time, we also expect significant benefits in high-performance computing, storage, networking, and advanced embedded systems as the CXL ecosystem continues to mature.
What does Teledyne LeCroy see as CXL’s impact within your industry?
CXL is increasing demand for advanced development, debug, validation, and compliance solutions across the ecosystem, which aligns directly with Teledyne LeCroy’s core strengths. As customers move from exploration to product development and deployment, they need tools that can validate interoperability, analyze complex protocol behavior, and accelerate time to market. For us, CXL is both an important technology focus and a meaningful growth opportunity, driving continued investment in protocol analysis, exerciser platforms, compliance automation, and ecosystem collaboration.
