CXL Consortium Makes a Splash at Supercomputing 2021 (SC21)

1 min read

Supercomputing 2021 (SC21) took place recently in St. Louis, Missouri, and was the CXL™ Consortium’s first in-person industry event since its formation in 2019. The Consortium stood out showcasing the first public demonstrations of Compute Express Link™ (CXL™) technology from member companies, a Birds of a Feather session in collaboration with Gen-Z Consortium™ and SNIA, and hosted a virtual exhibitor session and booth.

CXL Consortium Booth and Member Company Demos

The CXL Consortium booth received great traction from attendees and interested industry experts were impressed by the CXL technology demos, both in-person and virtual, from member companies including Astera Labs, Cadence, Elastics.Cloud, GigaIO, IntelliProp, Meta, Mobiveil, Montage Technology, Rambus, Synopsys, Samsung and Teledyne LeCroy. We are excited to have support from our member companies this year and would like to extend a special thanks to all our members for their efforts to showcase CXL technology demos at SC21.

CXL technology video demos from member companies are available on the CXL Consortium YouTube Channel or by clicking on the link of the individual company.

SC21 TV Live Interview

As first-time exhibitors at SC21, Larrie Carr, CXL Consortium board member, had the opportunity to be interviewed by Supercomputing SCTV to discuss the formation of the CXL Consortium, collaboration within the consortium and the impact of CXL technology in the interconnect industry. The full interview is available on the Supercomputing YouTube channel.

Birds of a Feather Session

We also presented a Birds of a Feather session with our industry liaisons Gen-Z Consortium and SNIA titled “CXL™ Consortium, Gen-Z Consortium™, SNIA and End-Users – Is Disaggregation of Systems the Future?”. The session featured a panel of experts from the CXL™ Consortium, Gen-Z Consortium™, SNIA as well as end-users Meta and Microsoft to discuss how the disaggregation of systems and persistent memory are critical to the industry and is being enabled by our technologies. Access the Birds of a Feather presentation recording here.

Virtual Booth

The CXL Consortium virtual booth will be accessible via the SC21 HUBB platform until January 2022. We encourage you to visit our virtual booth to access CXL videos, whitepapers, educational resources and more.
